Send Push
Google has reportedly issued a new notification to some Android users via Google Play Services, stating, “Your Android Has New Features.” This message leads users to a full-screen interface that showcases the latest features for Android smartphones, including tools like Circle to Search , Google Lens , and Google Photos , among others. Previously, these notifications were exclusively sent to Pixel users through the Tips app, according to a report by 9To5Google.

Once users tap the notification, they are presented with a full-screen interface displaying the latest Android updates. The interface allows them to swipe through various screens in a carousel format, which highlights one feature at a time. This new feature aims to increase user awareness of the enhancements available on their devices.

9To5Google also reported that each feature interface includes an image showing how the feature works, along with a description for better understanding. There’s also a “How to Get Started” button to guide users on how to utilize these features.

Key Features:
Circle To Search: This AI-driven feature enables users to search for anything on their Android phone without switching apps. Users simply circle an item to search for it. Recently, this feature has been enhanced to scan QR codes and barcodes directly from the screen.

  • Google Lens: A powerful tool that employs image recognition technology to provide information about the objects or scenes users capture with their camera.
  • Google Messages: Now supports full-screen visual effects for a more immersive messaging experience.
  • Google Photos: New tools in Google Photos, including Photo Unblur, Magic Eraser, Portrait Light, and Magic Editor, offer enhanced photo editing capabilities.
  • Google Wallet : Google Wallet now allows users to store and use QR codes and barcode passes, making it easier to access passes received via email.
  • Google Safe Browsing : A security feature that protects users from harmful websites, downloads, and extensions. A new green shield icon signifies this protection.

In related news, Google has also updated its video calling app, Google Meet . The redesigned interface introduces a new ‘New’ button, which gives users the ability to create a new meeting, schedule one, or set up a group call. It also provides easy access to contacts for quick calling, simplifying the user experience and improving functionality.
