Ticket Given to Jitesh Kumar Katara by Bhartiya Adivasi Party from Salumbar: Placed Third with 51,000 Votes in 2023 Elections

Udaipur : The Bhartiya Adivasi Party (BAP) has announced its candidate for the upcoming by-election from the Salumbar constituency. The party has once again placed its bet on Jitesh Kumar Katara (27), who contested the 2023 state assembly election from the same seat. BAP is the first political party to declare its candidate for the by-election.

National President of BAP, Mohanlal Roth, shared that Jitesh Katara will represent the party in the Salumbar assembly by-election. He mentioned that the party conducted an internal selection process, and Katara received the highest number of votes from party representatives in Salumbar, leading to his official candidacy.

The Salumbar seat was left vacant following the death of BJP MLA Amritlal Meena.

Placed Third in the 2023 Assembly Election

In the 2023 state assembly election, Jitesh Kumar Katara was also the BAP candidate from Salumbar. He garnered 51,691 votes, placing him third. The late Amritlal Meena of the BJP secured the first position, while Raghuveer Singh Meena of the Congress came second.

Jitesh Kumar Katara has been involved with the tribal community since 2015 and entered active politics in 2016. His political journey began when he took leadership of the Bhil Pradesh Vidyarthi Morcha in Sarada College in 2017. He played a significant role in securing victory for the student organization in 2019.

Jitesh highlights the lack of employment opportunities for local youth as a major issue. In addition, he has prioritized the improvement of rural roads, education, healthcare, and transportation as key issues in his campaign.
