NEW DELHI: External affairs minister S Jaishankar on Sunday emphasised the significance of Maharashtra in achieving the vision of a developed India during a press conference in Mumbai on Sunday. He asserted that the state "needs a government which is on the same page as the Centre," while campaigning for Mahayuti ahead of the state assembly elections.
Jaishankar, who is also a BJP MP, highlighted Maharashtra's leading position in various sectors such as industry, technology, and infrastructure.
"Maharashtra is a leading state in industry technology and infrastructure. Viksit Maharashtra is important for achieving the goal of Viksit Bharat ," the BJP MP said.
He underscored the importance of a progressive Maharashtra in realizing the goal of a prosperous nation.
The minister further noted that the NDA government , in its third term, is placing a strong emphasis on economic growth and job creation.
He also reaffirmed India's commitment to combating terrorism, saying that the country has adopted a zero-tolerance approach towards this global menace and has emerged as a leader in the fight against terrorism.
