“What a clown" – Kevin Durant slams podcaster for taking advice from astrologer on show

The Phoenix Suns did not have a spot in the playoffs, but Kevin Durant is still making waves. The veteran Suns forwards recently reacted to a podcaster named Erik Ruby (as per his X handle) who had a chat with an astrologer on one of the episodes of his show discussing the Phoenix Suns’ locker room. It did not go well with Durant, who responded with a post on X mocking the podcasted in his usual hilarious jibe.

Kevin Durant can be brutal with his witty remarks. Recently, a podcaster named Erik Ruby had a chat with The Zodiac GM discussing the fate of the Phoenix Suns. Durant was not going to take any prophecy for that matter, as the forward shuts down the claims made in the show, making a joke out of it.

“We got an astrologer tellin this man about our locker room and even crazier, this man is believing it. What a clown,” Durant wrote on X, adding laughter emoticons before and after as he replied to a clip of the episode.

“The Phoenix Suns, not a great spot for them to be in right now, obviously, this past couple of seasons have been a massive disappointment despite acquiring just high levels of talent,” Ruby said, opening the show while attempting to find an answer to “Why did the Suns never connect as a team?”

Later, he went on to retrospect on the astrology perspective about why the Suns’ roster failed to make an impact this season. The Zodiac GM responded that before acquiring Durant, the Suns were dominating the league, while acknowledging the veteran’s prowess and brand value.

Later, the astrologer analyzed the roster with a zodiac perspective, stating that Durant’s zodiac sign influences the roster, as, according to the astrologer, his inherent dominating nature impacts the other players.

Kevin Durant has once again added a prestigious accolade to his legendary career, earning the 2024–25 Magic Johnson Award for his excellence on the court and professionalism. Presented by the Professional Basketball Writers Association (PBWA), this award honors an NBA player who combines elite performance with respect and openness toward the media and fans.

This marks the second time Durant has received the honor, with his first coming in the 2010–11 season while playing for the Oklahoma City Thunder.
