Ayesha, the wife of NBA star Stephen Curry , had admitted that she never wanted a husband or children, but her recent Instagram post has stirred up fan outrage. Her "Life lately" update with photos of her family received mean criticism from fans who doubted her sincerity and asked Stephen to reconsider their marriage. Many now backed him in the face of the criticism. Former NFL MVP Cam Newton is one of those fans; in August, he backed Ayesha's comments on the " Call Her Daddy " podcast.
Cam Newton defends Ayesha Curry ’s bold honesty about marriage as fans clash over her viral confession
After her go-viral remarks regarding marrying Steph Curry last week, Ayesha Curry still gets hate. While many have bashed Ayesha, she also got a lot of support. Newton took a different perspective about it last October 8 when he spoke on Angela Yee's "Way Up" podcast. At one time, the host pointed out:
“She basically was saying there that her goal in life when she was younger was to be a career oriented person, not necessarily have kids. And then she got married, got pregnant right away. And what she thought was going to happen just disappeared. And she's fine with that. She wouldn't trade. But people are giving her a lot of backlash for even saying that..”
To this, Ashley Nicole Moss said:
“I think people purposely misunderstood her and I think people purposely misunderstand her. There's something about Aisha Curry for some reason. And I don't know if it's the love affair people have for Steph as an athlete, as a regarded athlete, a good guy…”
Newton then said:
“This is what I can respect Ayesha Curry for saying. She said what she felt. And there’s an often missed word when we’re talking about a relationship, when we’re talking about marriage. You’re married, you’re in a relationship, but are you happy? Because every single day, they’ve been married long enough to be able to say, ‘Hey, during this stretch of our marriage or our relationship, we were going through a rough time’..”
Further supporting Mrs. Curry, Moss said:
“When I listened to it is that's not uncommon for women in some way, shape, or form. You know, you go into your life thinking it's going to look a certain way and then marriage happens or babies happen or let's flip it. You focus on your career and then you look up and you're 40, you're like, "Wow, I don't have kids and never got married. I prioritized my career. Like, did I do it wrong?"
Gilbert Arenas and Stephen Curry rally behind Ayesha as her heartfelt marriage remarks spark waves of fan backlash
During the episode, his wife shared her views about marriage, fatherhood, and family life, especially how she previously perceived these experiences prior to being married to the Golden State Warriors' star guard.
The former Carolina Panthers player also criticized Killer Mike, who had voiced his opinion before to Ayesha's widely shared comments. Steph even made a special effort to stand up for his wife and publicly address the rapper, who immediately expressed regret.
She received a lot of tirades from fans ever since, but Gilbert Arenas, a retired Golden State Warriors player, has defended her in recent times by saying that nobody actually knew what she was saying.
Gilbert Arenas, previously drafted by the Golden State Warriors, and Stephen Curry wrote some encouraging words to Curry's favorite wife, Ayesha. The four-time mother has been getting a lot of hate mail from fans who disagreed with her opinions on marriage and children.
When they were married in 2011, Ayesha Curry was heard stating that she had no regrets now, despite the fact that this was not how she perceived herself at the time, in a video that was made public after the episode went viral.
