Pokémon GO is embracing the arrival of spring, hosting its ever-colorful, ever-festival "Spring into Spring" event. The colorful extravaganza will run from Wednesday, April 9 at 10 AM till Monday, April 14 at 8 PM, local time. Season spawns, exclusive research, and the release of new Pokémon are enough reasons for Niantic to have Trainers log in every day this week.
New update on the Pokédex
Highlighting the spring is the GO debut of Gossifleur and its evolution, Eldegoss , two Grass-type Pokémon that recently dawdled into the game with sunny vibes just for springtime! Their arrival is central to the nature-growth theme of the celebration, with an increased chance of finding Gossifleur in the wild or obtaining it through tasks or eggs during the event.
Rotating spawns: A new cast every phaseThe most interesting twist is that Pokémon spawns will be rotating every two or so days, giving Trainers reasons to check in throughout the event. Every phase celebrates a different lineup:
Egg hatching, too, gets a spring makeover this season, with themed Pokémon available from 2km and 5km Eggs—just right for those Trainers who have been itching to move about now that the weather is warmer. The details of a specific hatch list have not yet been fully revealed; however, the players are encouraged to hoard as many Incubators as possible.
A timed research and field research lineup is featured throughout the week-long event, wherein a "Rainy Days" Collection Challenge will ask players to catch certain Pokémon that recall springtime rain and blooming fields. Completion of this challenge will award players various items, XP, and perhaps encounter certain rare event Pokémon.
Seasonal bonuses and community powerSo far, there has not been any announcement of any global bonuses, such as double XP or Candy; however, the crowd-funding nature of the event means it encourages people to get out and about, collecting, and getting together with other Trainers. With spawns constantly changing and the event lasting only a few days, it's a fast-paced, almost panicked rush for rewards to keep the excitement going for grizzled veterans of the game.
Whether you are among those dithering collectors pursuing Gossifleur or a competitive Trainer gunning for Hisuian Growlithe or an ordinary Trainer soaking in the springtime atmosphere, everything melds nostalgically into one and makes it new while also leading to creative play.
