The Penguin's latest episode stuns fans; classic Batman character is introduced before shock twist

In 'The Penguin' latest episode, the focus of the story shifts from its characters, Oz Cobb, Colin Farrell and Victor Aguilar, Rhenzy Feliz, and Sofia Falcone's, Cristin Milioti's journey. Her background is one who spent some time in the psychiatric hospital called Arkham Asylum in Gotham City. This now delves into how she ended up there.

Series plot The plot of the series revolves around mysterious suicides involving young women who work at the Iceberg Lounge, a night club in Gotham City. The public suspects these deaths might be the hand of a serial killer. Carmine Falcone, played by Mark Strong, is the father of Sofia and is placed as one of the prime suspects. He wins them with a nickname, "The Hangman," because of his criminal ties and because he owns the Iceberg Lounge. This connection is discovered by Sofia with the help of a determined reporter named Summer Gleeson, who makes her live-action debut in the series. Carmine is investigated, and its truths are uncovered by Sofia and Summer, but this investigation leads to dangerous consequences.

Summer Gleeson is an original character introduced into the television show 'Batman: The Animated Series', when she first appears in the episode "Christmas with the Joker." She has been voiced by Mari Devon. She is one of the best-known journalists in Gotham City, and she constantly puts herself in dangerous situations because of her attempts to find out Batman's secrets. Although Summer doesn't have a long history in the comics, she's been involved in a few Batman-related stories, among them *Batman & Mr. Freeze: SubZero* and several comic book series.

In the movie 'The Penguin', Summer Gleeson asks Sofia Falcone; at first, Summer dismisses Sofia's claims that her father could not be connected with the women's murder. But before Sofia can go to Carmine with her accusations, she finds out that Summer has been secretly working with the Gotham Police to build a case against him. This puts Summer in extreme danger. Carmine finds out his daughter is onto him and has Summer murdered, framing Sofia for the crime instead. He, using his influence, sends Sofia to Arkham Asylum, where she spends over a decade due to manipulation by her father.

Summer Gleeson's arc in the show is short and bursting. She gets murdered on the show, which sends big shakes to the plot as audiences are more than keen to be knowing if any of the characters of 'The Penguin' are going to feature in the future Batman films, which indeed is 'The Batman Part II' where Colin Farrell is to reprise his role as Oz Cobb.
New episodes of *The Penguin* premiere every Sunday on Max with each episode bringing something new to the table.
