Shah rukh Khan's move from Mannat leaves vendors at Bandstand worried: 'Public kam aa rahi hai'

The once-bustling streets around Bandstand in Bandra, home to Shah Rukh Khan’s iconic Mannat mansion, are now eerily quiet. The ongoing renovation work at the mansion has left the area devoid of the usual buzz, affecting both the surroundings and the local vendors.

Vendors Struggling Due to Lack of Crowds

These vendors, who typically thrive on the crowds attracted by SRK’s presence, are now facing a sharp decline in their sales.

Loss of Fan Frenzy

The vendors’ struggles are easy to explain: Shah Rukh Khan and his family’s presence outside Mannat used to attract a large crowd of fans and passersby. Fans would often gather, buying food and merchandise from local vendors while taking photos outside the mansion. With the actor's absence, that fan frenzy has vanished. Many vendors voiced their concerns in a video shared by Instant Bollywood.

Business Impact on Local Vendors

An ice-cream seller mentioned that business has been significantly affected. With Shah Rukh Khan no longer living at Mannat and the public aware of his absence, fewer people are visiting the area.

Decreased Footfall and Visitor Turnaround

Another vendor shared that the change has been noticeable. Previously, people would visit and stay for a while, but now that they know Shah Rukh Khan no longer resides there, fewer people are showing up. Even those who do visit tend to leave after realizing the star is absent, often turning their taxis or autos around.

The vendor added that Mannat feels special only because of Shah Rukh Khan. Without him, the place seems to lose its significance.

Shah Rukh Khan’s New Residence in Pali Hill

Shah Rukh Khan, along with his wife Gauri and children Aryan, Suhana, and AbRam, have moved to a luxury apartment in the Pali Hill area of Bandra, occupying four floors. According to a report in HT, Shah Rukh has leased these floors from film producer Vashu Bhagnani. His company, Red Chillies Entertainment, entered into a leave and licence agreement with Bhagnani’s actor son, Jackky Bhagnani, and his daughter, Deepshika Deshmukh, who co-owns the property, Puja Casa.

Renovation at Mannat and Lease Details

The renovation work at Mannat includes a long-awaited extension of the bungalow, for which Shah Rukh Khan had to obtain court approval. As Mannat is a Grade III heritage structure, any structural changes require proper permissions. The report also revealed that the four leased floors will not only accommodate the Khan family but also their security, staff, and some office space. While it's not as spacious as Mannat, there is sufficient room for their needs. Shah Rukh will reportedly pay Rs 24 lakh per month for the four floors, and the renovation at Mannat may take up to two years to complete.
