Shah Rukh Khan is known for his down-to-earth nature and generosity toward his co-stars, without displaying arrogance despite his stardom. In a recent conversation, Rushad Rana, who played small roles in Shah Rukh’s movies like 'Mohabbatein', 'Veer-Zaara', and 'Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi', shared how SRK made him feel special.
In a chat with Siddharth Kannan, Rushad revealed that after working in 'Mohabbatein' (2000), he again shared the screen with SRK in 'Veer-Zaara' (2004). Although the actor had a minor role in the first film, Shah Rukh still remembered him on the next film set and even gave him a nickname. “Main 'Mohabbatein' ke un teen ladkon mein se bhi nahi tha, phir bhi he remembered me” (I wasn’t even one of the three main characters in 'Mohabbatein'), Rushad shared. The actor quoted SRK: "Of course, I remember you. But main tujhe Rushad nahi bulaunga. I will call you partner." King Khan used to call him "partner" throughout the shoot.
Rushad further shared a heartfelt memory involving filmmaker Yash Chopra during the wrap-up of 'Mohabbatein'. Before Rana’s first European tour, Chopra gave him bread and jam, advising him to make sandwiches to save on Europe’s expensive food. The actor highlighted Chopra's caring nature through this thoughtful gesture.
'Mohabbatein' and 'Veer-Zaara' were produced by Yash Raj Films. Aditya Chopra and Yash Chopra directed the films, respectively. 'Mohabbatein' also featured Amitabh Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai in key roles, while 'Veer-Zaara' starred Preity Zinta alongside Shah Rukh Khan.
