“MERA NAAM SHAH RUKH HAI”
imageMumbai was on orange alert on August 24 due to torrential rainfall. This, however, didn’t seem to deter Sher Mohammad aka Shah Rukh from attempting to meet his idol. Sher stood there unperturbed holding a placard expressing his wish to meet SRK. When asked why he is holding the placard, he says, “This will help me draw people’s attention who visit the residence to see the star. If people post my photo on social media and help me go viral, SRK might just get my message. I have driven all the way from Jharkhand in my own car to meet him."

For the days that he has been here, Sher has been residing in his car which is parked outside Mannat the whole time. Sher recalls, “I was elated on getting the first glimpse of my hero. On Eid, he had worn a white kurta. Kya lag rahe thhe woh. I just love him in white.” When asked if his work suffers due to this long wait, he said, “Ha kaam pe toh asar hota hi hai lekin sir ke liye kuch bhi.”

“WOH EK ACCHE ACTOR TOH HAI HI LEKIN WOH BOHOT ACCHE INSAAN BHI HAI”
imagePreeti Kukreti, a 37-year-old Mumbai resident, visits Mannat whenever she is in Bandra with the hope that SRK might just step out to say hello to his fans. Usually Preeti comes along with her husband as they both admire the star and also bond over this mutual love.

On this day Preeti was at Mannat with her society friends who also love the actor equally. This excited group of women was busy striking Shah Rukh Khan’s iconic poses and recording boomerangs doing hook steps of the actor’s popular songs. The purpose of Preeti’s visit this time was a perfect Mumbai monsoon day. She said, “Aaj itni baarish ho rahi thi, mausam itna romantic tha toh SRK ke ghar aana toh banta hai.” Some of her favourite SRK movies are Kabhi Ha Kabhi Na, Baazigar, Jawan and Pathaan.

“MERE LIYE SHAH RUKH KHAN HI PURA BOLLYWOOD HAI”
imageLobsang from Arunachal Pradesh was in Mumbai with his friend to see Shah Rukh Khan. Lobsang was seen taking in the charm of SRK’s residence as he stood in front of Mannat with his hands on his chest looking at the top from where SRK greets his fans.

Lobsang developed a strong admiration for SRK after watching his film Koyla, more so because parts of the film were shot in his home state. “For me Bollywood is synonymous with SRK. Koyla was the first film of Shah Rukh that I watched. From that day on I became a diehard fan of his."

For this fan, SRK is his family. Lobsang has been celebrating SRK’s birthdays with his friends by cutting a cake and treating them to some good food.

While the rest of the fans were busy getting clicked outside the star’s house, a nine-year-old Avani was gently knocking on the gates of Mannat and was heard saying, “Shah Rukh Khan ji agar aap ghar par ho toh please bahar aayiye na.” Avani was at Mannat with her parents Manda and Satish Sonawane.

The family had come to Mumbai from Gujarat to get a glimpse of SRK. Manda and her daughters can’t get enough of Khan’s movies. Their recent favourite movie is Jawan. Expressing her love for SRK, Manda said, “Shah Rukh Khan Mumbai ki jaan hai aur hum unpar fida hai.”
