CHENNAI: Commissioner of railway safety, southern circle, A M Chowdhary conducted inspection at the rail accident site in Kavaraipettai near Chennai on Saturday. The National Investigation Agency also joined the probe to investigate into the sabotage angle.
A thorough inspection of the tracks, points & blocks, signals, station electronic interlocking systems, control panels and other significant safety, signal and operational aspects was conducted.
Three grievously injured passengers were admitted to Stanley Medical College Hospital, and six passengers with simple injuries were treated in Ponneri Government Hospital. They were given ex-gratia payment as per norms.
