Raipur: Chhattisgarh's distinctive culture, geographical diversity and scenic landscapes have consistently drawn national attention and now they could become cinematic as well.
The state, known for its distinctive folk arts and theatrical heritage, is now advancing towards its goal of constructing a Film City in Raipur. A meeting reportedly took place in Raipur between Dilraj Sinha and notable Bollywood personality Harman Baweja with senior Chhattisgarh govt officials.
The primary agenda focused on assessing the viability of establishing a Film City in the state's capital.
Baweja shared with journalists, "We are here to evaluate the potential. The atmosphere in Chhattisgarh is very encouraging, and people have a deep fondness for this city. We are hopeful that this project will materialise, and we are eager to be a part of it. Our vision extends beyond just Bollywood; we intend to attract diverse film units from across India and the globe to Raipur to collaborate with the local film fraternity. This city has significant potential as a filming location."
Elaborating on the proposal, Sinha revealed, "We have prior experience working with various countries and film tourism boards. Our goal is to establish a state-of-the-art Film City in Raipur, which we anticipate will be fully functional within the next two years."
Sinha further stated, "Raipur is a rapidly developing city with highly promising growth prospects. It will be an honour for our team to contribute to this transformation."
According to a govt spokesperson, this development is anticipated to enhance Chhattisgarh's visibility on national and international platforms while creating employment opportunities, strengthening tourism and attracting investments to the state. It remains to be seen how this project will take shape in the future.
