Ace Pakistan batter Babar Azam's 'X' post after his team's 152-run win over England in Multan on Friday has gone viral on social media. Not just Babar, but ace pacer Shaheen Shah Afridi, who was also 'rested' for the second and third Tests against England, had a graceful wish for his team, even though he couldn't get into the field and perform for his side. Left-arm spinner Noman Ali took 8/46 to finish with a match haul of 11 wickets and England was bowled out for a paltry 144 inside the first session on Day 4 on a tailor-made dry wicket. Off-spinner Sajid Khan took 2/93 to go with his 7/111 in the first innings as both spinners bowled unchanged and ran through the tourists’ batting lineup after Pakistan had set up a daunting target of 297 runs."Well done, team! Fantastic win. Proud of the effort and spirit," Babar tweeted.

"Fantastic win at home! Congratulations to Pakistan. Noman Ali and Sajid Khan were exceptional, along with a dream debut for Kamran Ghulam and a massive contribution from Salman Ali Agha," Shaheen tweeted.

Pakistan’s last home test victory came against South Africa in 2021. Since, besides losing to England, it lost home tests to Australia and 2-0 to Bangladesh as well. “The first one is always special, after some rough times. For the boys to step in, a lot has happened this past week, but we came up with a strategy to get 20 wickets and we made it happen," Pakistan skipper Shan Masood said after the match. The Pakistan skipper was referring to his team's wholesale changes for the second Test. Debutant Kamran Ghulam made a flawless hundred in the first innings after he replaced out-of-form Babar at No. 4 and Pakistan gambled with spinners Sajid and Noman, who have not played red-ball cricket for nine months.
