Thangalaan On OTT: Vikram's Period Drama Likely To Release On Diwali

Director Pa Ranjith’s much-anticipated period drama Thangalaan which released on the big screens on August 15, 2024, gained positive reviews when it hit screens. Since then, fans have been anticipating the film’s OTT release which was to release on September 20 has been delayed.

Thangalaan on OTTRecently, in an interview, producer Gnanavel Raja addressed rumours of the delay of the film’s OTT release being caused by financial trouble. He said, “They (Netflix) scheduled the release for Deepavali (Diwali). They wanted a festival release since Thangalaan is a big film. However, our favourite YouTubers are claiming that there are some issues with Thangalaan. They have a knack for claiming that there is an issue when in reality, there isn’t any."

Thangalaan is Ranjith’s second-period drama after Sarpatta Parambarai (2021).Also Read: The film is set in the Kolar Gold Fields (KGF) of India. Thangalaan narrates that history from the KGF’s perspective of indigenous communities.

Thangalaan, earned Rs 100 crore at the worldwide box office. Studio Green, the official production house which backed the film announced the same on social media.
