A couple's birthday celebration turned into a frightening moment when a pack of wolves appeared outside their glass cabin in Quebec, Canada. Michee Jules, 34, and his wife Maya Jules, 33, visited Quebec in February to celebrate Michee's birthday. The pair had been warned about the presence of wolves in the area, but they didn’t expect to see a group of nine wolves howling near their cabin. Michee, a photographer from New Jersey, told the New York Post, "It was a joyful experience to witness these animals up close."The couple had booked the cabin for a week and claimed to have seen the wild animals daily.Michee told the media outlet, "I couldn't believe we were lucky enough to see the wolves so close up and so often."When I opened the door to the wolves, I was very surprised by their calm reaction."I still kept my distance but I wasn't bothered nor did I feel threatened.
"I'd definitely go back to Canada again just for this experience alone."Canada is home to one of the largest wolf populations globally, second only to Russia. The International Fund for Animal Welfare estimates that over 50,000 grey wolves reside in Canada. Various wolf species inhabit nearly 90 per cent of their historical range across the country.NEW: Pack of nine wolves surrounds a New Jersey couple's cabin in Quebec, Canada, while on vacation
