Disney+ series All's Fair actually has a quite an impressive line-up. Alongside Kim Kardashian, there's legacy actresses Sarah Paulson, Glenn Close, Niecy Nash, Teyana Taylor and Naomi Watts, to name just a few of the core female leads.
However, despite having some A-list stars to bring eyes to the show, it has been hailed outright awful by users on Rotten Tomatoes, getting an outrageous rating of 5%, though it's up from last week, where it held a 0% title.
It's Kim's first major acting project after taking on some smaller roles, and while people were eager to see how she'd fare behind the camera, it seems viewers are just not impressed. The show follows a successful divorce lawyer and owner of an all-female law firm in LA, the concept sounds great, but the execution doesn't seem to quite be there.
At the premiere, creator Ryan Murphy praised his leading cast as "this season's lady avengers".
He added: "In the past 20 years or more, the women of this cast have more than jumped buildings in a single bound. They are icons, every single one of them. They've changed culture, they've all done good works, virtuous works. In many cases, they've fought the bad guys and won."
He concluded: "These women and the characters they play in the show are here to inspire, conspire, and uplift in very dark and troubling times."
Unfortunately, despite the meaning Murphy placed on the cast, it didn't quite resonate with viewers. One person wrote on Rotten Tomatoes: "Sarah Paulson and Glenn Close try to elevate it but there's only so much they can do. It's bad."
Another said: "As a self-proclaimed Ryan Murphy superfan, it pains me that this series can't find its footing. It wants to be camp, but it's not even 'so bad, it's good'. It's one of the worst shows of the year."
Another wrote: "It's not a hate-watch, this is unwatchable." A fourth added: "It's all just painfully hard to watch. It's beneath everyone involved, even Kardashian, who mostly seems bored. She's not alone. The absurdity occasionally earns a guffaw, but it's not enough to offset the tedium."
It was not all bad news as one fan praised: "I love the lineup!"
The show only aired on November 4, but the reaction has already been mostly poor. The first three episodes aired on November 4, with new episodes set to come every Tuesday morning until December 9.
There is still time for the opinion on the show to change, with the two-part finale airing in a month, but it really hasn't got off to the best start.
