In a dramatic twist on the latest episode of Tipping Point, contestant Jen narrowly missed out on the £10,000 jackpot prize, yet she claimed it didn't faze her one bit.
The popular ITV quiz show returned this Wednesday (October 16) with host Ben Shephard guiding a new batch of hopefuls towards potential victory. It was Jen who shone through, battling her way to the final round with a string of correct answers and successful drops from the machine.
Despite consistently placing her counters in the favoured slot number one, the coveted star counter, worth a whopping £10,000, teetered but wouldn't fall.
When faced with the decision to trade her accumulated £3,450 for a shot at the jackpot, Jen deemed the star counter too far from the edge to gamble. Confidently opting to keep her winnings, she declared, "I don't care".
Yet, in a revealing twist, when Ben tested what might have been, the star counter did indeed fall, meaning Jen could have won £10,000, reports .
Unfazed by what could have been, Jen reiterated: "I don't care" and "I don't want to know."
She expressed contentment with her prize money, which she planned to use for a trip to see the Northern Lights with her partner.
Viewers at home were left skeptical of Jen's decision and flocked to social media to voice their opinions on her game strategy. One viewer dripping with irony commented: "Yeah, 3,000 is so much better than 10,000." (sic)
Another disgruntled fan vented: "'If it had been right on the edge I might have gone for it'. It WAS right on the edge!"
A third was left stunned by her choice, remarking: "I'm dumbfounded she didn't take the trade."
Yet another shared their congratulations with Jen, pointing out additional perks she secured: "Congrats, Jen, you didn't need to win. You met our beloved Ben. Enjoy your Champagne and Spa break."
Tipping Point airs weekdays at 4pm on ITV1.
