Viewers of long-running BBC series Strictly Come Dancing have voiced their fury that AI could ruin their chance of enjoying the final. According to The Sun, one viewer shared a screenshot from a Google search AI result that predicts Kate Carney, the former England footballer, has made it to the final of this year's competition. Whilst this is completely incorrect, as we are only halfway through the competition, other fans complained that they had also had Strictly spoilt for them due to AI giving them wrong answers. The publication said that the original poster wrote: "Trying to find out which footballer has gone the furthest into the show and Google's AI dropped this bombshell."
A second person also commented: "Lol! I had similar recently when I was being nosey and looking up Jimmy's wife. Googles AI snippets confidently told me it was Lauren."
A third also chimed in: "Just goes to show how AI can misinterpret available information and get the conclusion wrong."
Last weekend during Icons Week, West End star Amber Davies had a shock when she found herself in the bottom two alongside Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink.
Amber ultimately beat the 53-year-old former professional footballer in the dance off after failing to win over viewers in the public vote.
Despite feeling relieved to live another week in the BBC's Latin and Ballroom dance competition, Amber shared her true feelings following Jimmy's exit during last Sunday night's results show on Instagram - saying she felt like "absolute garbage".
Dressed in pyjamas whilst holding a framed photo of her and Nikita performing on the show, Amber lip synched to a clip that admitted: "I woke up this morning, and I felt like absolute garbage, for anyone who wants to know what garbage is, that is French for trash."
So far, four pairs have been eliminated from the dance competition, including celebs such as Thomas Skinner, Chris Robshaw, Ross King and Jimmy. Meanwhile, Stefan Dennis and Dani Dyer have both had to withdraw due to injuries.
Strictly Come Dancing resumes on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
