Shoppers say Next's pumpkin lamp is 'gorgeous and not just for Halloween'

Autumn is definitely here - the leaves are falling off the trees, the days are getting shorter, and suddenly pumpkins seem to be popping up everywhere. While some of the seasonal homeware options might be a little gaudy, especially if you don't want to go full-blown Halloween, I've come across a pumpkin-shaped lamp from Next that strikes just the right balance. It's perfect for autumn lovers who want to spice up their living rooms, but it is versatile enough to work as a fun year-round addition.

Plus, smaller accent lamps like this can add instant warmth and ambience to a room.

It's made from thick glass with a pink and orange pattern, which, combined with the yellow LED lights inside, should cast a beautiful warm glow. This colourway costs £28.

The lamp doesn't need to be plugged in; it's battery-operated and uses two AA batteries, which means you aren't bound to areas of your home with a plug socket. It's also small enough to be placed anywhere, from a side table to a bookcase, as it's 15cm tall and 21cm in diameter.

The lamp is also available in a shiny silver design for £22, though it is slightly smaller.
