Who is Meredith Scudder?
Born in Texas on May 12, 1996, Scudder is one of three children to Michelle and Mark Scudder. In 2014, she graduated from Highland Park High School, where she first met Scheffler.
She later attended Texas A&M University as a communication and business major, and although Scheffler attended a different college some two hours away, the pair continued their relationship. Scudder secured her Bachelor's degree in 2018 and became the co-founder and vice president of With Purpose College Station.
The company supports the lives of those affected by childhood cancer. The 29-year-old is also an ambassador of the nutrition organisation Juice Plus.
When did the couple get married?
Scheffler and Scudder tied the knot at a winter wonderland-themed reception on December 4, 2020, at Arlington Hall in Dallas. They'd been dating for six years, and in June that year had announced their engagement on Instagram after Scheffler proposed on a hiking trip at Arbor Hills Nature Preserve.
Do the couple have any children?
In May 2024, Scudder gave birth to the couple's baby son, Bennett. Such is Scheffler's devotion to his family that his 2024 win almost never happened. Before the tournament, he vowed to leave the course immediately if Scudder went into labour.
How does Scudder support Scheffler?
Aside from Augusta last year, the Ryder Cup star's wife is an ever-present at his tournaments. She even carries his bag at the annual par-three Masters tournament, and is in Quail Hollow this week as her husband inches closer to another major win.
