Princess Diana's niece, Lady Eliza Spencer, has announced that she is now engaged to her long-term boyfriend, Channing Millerd. The daughter of Charles, Earl Spencer and Victoria Aitken took to her official Instagram account to announce the joyous news and showcase her stunning new sparkler.
In one of the pictures, the couple appear to be over the moon as they lovingly gaze into each other's eyes, while another one shows Channing down on one knee, popping the question to a speechless Eliza. The proposal took place in Santorini, Greece, during a stunning candlelit dinner against the island's breathtaking sunset.
But despite many rushing to wish the couple congratulations, one key figure did not acknowledge it publicly-Earl Spencer.
The Earl's relationship with his children in recent years has been a subject of discussion among royal watchers, despite no rift ever being officially confirmed.
Princess Diana's brother did not attend two of his daughters' weddings, Lady Kitty Spencer and Lady Amelia Spencer. Earl Spencer, who is usually active on social media, stayed silent on Thursday despite the big news.
His last upload on Instagram was on July 29, when he uploaded an unseen picture of himself with Princess Diana, on her wedding anniversary and on July 30 on X, where he shared pictures from a magazine article on multiple sclerosis.
Eliza captioned her post with a short and sweet message, saying: "Forever and Ever [heart emojis.]
One of the first to comment was her twin sister, Lady Amilia, who said: "I couldn't be happier for you both! The BEST NEWS IN THE WORLD. I love you both with all my heart! The perfect couple and dream engagement. Forever and Everz."
Another one was make-up artist friend Jacinta Spencer, who is not related to the Spencers and who wrote: "OMG this is so beautiful! I'm so so happy for you xx love you both xxxx"
Amelia's husband, Greg Mallett, also commented on the post, saying: "The best news ever!! Cannot wait to be together. wohoooo!"
