
A body has been found after a desperate search for a missing Glasgow man who vanished more than two weeks ago. The grim discovery was made on a beach in Dunoon, the largest town in Argyll, on October 20 during searches for Ryan Welsh.
The 27-year-old, from Milton, was reported missing by his family after they had not heard from him since Friday October 3. The last official sighting of Mr Welsh was during the early hours of Sunday October 5 at Glasgow Royal Infirmary. His dissapearnce prompted his uncle and partner Claire to launch an urgent missing persons appeal.
However, tragedy struck after Police Scotland said on October 21 said that a body has been found on the beach at Marine Parade, Dunoon and that Mr Welsh's family has been informed.
The discovery was made around 12.40pm on Monday, October 20. Police said formal identification is yet to take place, but that Mr Welsh's family has been informed.
Detectives are treating his death as "unexplained".
A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: "Around 12.40pm on Monday, 20 October, 2025, the body of a man was discovered on a beach at Marine Parade, Dunoon
"Formal identification has yet to take place, but the family of missing person Ryan Welsh have been informed.
"His death is being treated as unexplained."
