A major high street retailer has announced the sudden closure of its flagship store adding that it is "absolutely gutted". Following the devastating news the firm has launched its "biggest ever" closing down sale as the store prepares to pull down the shutters for good.
The Designer Rooms announced on social media that it will be permanently shuttering its branch based in Glasgow's Silverburn Shopping Centre after six years of trading. The store will close at the end of the year when the lease expires. Earlier this week the store temporarily closed to reduce the price of "every single item".
The Designer Rooms reopened to the public at 10am on Wednesday, September 24, for the "biggest ever end of lease sale you have ever seen."
In an announcement to Facebook the firm said: "We are absolutely gutted to announce that our Silverburn lease is ending at the end of this year.
"When we opened in 2019, we were just a family-run, Ayrshire based business who signed a one year lease, but six amazing years later it is now time for our Silverburn chapter to close."
With prices reduced across every item in store, the company further advised shoppers to "be early" as to avoid disappointment when heading to make some bargains later this week.
Meanwhile, over 100 excited shoppers tagged their friends in the Facebook post, with one joking that the sale "could be dangerous" and others reacted with the crying emoji.
The Designer Rooms which began as a family business in 2010 in the southwest town of Ayr, Ayrshire and has since opened further showrooms across Glasgow, Irvine, Kilmarnock and Wishaw.
The Scottish-based furniture retailer also recently announced it would open an outlet store in the Braehead retail park.
