Dominik Szoboszlai has candidly expressed that he's not entirely satisfied with his performance for this season, despite fulfilling "the dirty job" as requested by head coach .

Slot had previously challenged the Hungarian captain to bolster his goal and assist tally ahead of their clash with AC Milan, yet Szoboszlai has only managed a single goal this season so far.

Acknowledging there's room for improvement, Szoboszlai also highlighted his significant defensive contributions which often go unnoticed. The midfielder, wearing the No. 8 jersey, cautiously avoided making bold predictions about Liverpool's potential under their new coach this season, after prematurely claiming they could 'win everything' last year.

"I will not answer these questions anymore! " Szoboszlai exclaimed, reflecting on past overconfidence. "Because last season it didn't quite work out. Now we are looking for game by game and seeing what's happening.

"We have two cup competitions in England and the Premier League where you can compete against the best teams in the word, so you still have the Champions League. We are looking forward to it and we want to achieve a lot, so we will see what we can do.

"My form can be always better so no [I'm not happy]. I can play even better, as the gaffer said I can score and assist more, but I am doing the dirty job too for the team and that is the most important thing for me. Until [now] we are the top of the league, I don't score any goals but I will take it."

He acknowledged his evolving role in the team: "I just answered the question before, my role it's almost the same, I can play a bit higher, bit more offensively, I am happy with it but otherwise it is the same."

Discussing his training regimen, he noted: "It's not only about training sessions and videos, of course, that helps a lot but it is in the situation in the game, that is totally different. If I score in the training in the game, you can ask the guys, I have scored a couple of good goals, but it is not the same in the game. I am trying to work on it, to be in the position to score goals, if it takes time I will get there."

He also shared his enthusiasm about new role at Red Bull, "Well I also heard that he will start from January 1, working for RB. I think it's different, a new job, different to a coach, he needs to take care of many things but I am happy he is back, such a name in football, you don't want to forget about him and it is good he stays in football.

"Eighteen months went by so quickly, I played many matches for Liverpool and I worked for it, I am happy. I can only be thankful to RB Leipzig and my [other] previous clubs. They have a chance to win the Bundesliga and I hope they can make it. They won some trophies but only one is missing, why not this year? Could happen.

"I am happy to be back, can't wait to get to the stadium to see my old friends and coaching staff. I couldn't say goodbye to them because my transfer was a little bit quick. How they are doing, I don't know. I don't know who will play but they are a great team, six games, good start, no goals, so we have to be ready."
