fans were left fuming by one contestant's "sneaky" tactics during Tuesday evening's episode.
The beloved quiz show, hosted by , featured four new contestants who were eager to compete against a Chaser for a chance to win a significant cash prize.
The episode welcomed Martin, Shameen, Emma, and Sam, all determined to win as they faced off against quiz champion Paul "The Sinnerman" Sinha.
As the first contestant, Martin successfully brought £2,000 back to the table after opting for the lower offer. He also convinced his teammates to follow suit, which left viewers at home raging.
Taking to X (formerly Twitter), one user wrote: "First player Martin goes LOW for £2000. This team is screwed from the start. #TheChase."
Another added: "All sitting here waiting for Martin to say go high so we can all pile on... #TheChase." A third user chimed in: questioning, "Is Martin just gonna keep encouraging people to take low offers? #TheChase."
However, some fans defended Martin's decision. One commenter remarked: "So Martin is getting lambasted for taking the low offer... Look, if you don't want a contestant to take a low offer, don't have it as an option, duh. #TheChase."
In the final round, it came down to Martin and Emma, who faced a jackpot of £6,000. Unfortunately, despite their efforts, they walked away empty-handed.
The Chase has been a beloved show since it first began airing on 13 June 2009. The Chasers include Mark Labbett, Anne Hegerty, Shaun Wallace, Darragh Ennis and Paul.
Despite the tense atmosphere, Bradley recently revealed he keeps the show light-hearted by playfully teasing the Chasers.
He admitted, "I love winding them all up," adding, "The one I have the most fun with is Shaun, the Dark Destroyer. It's because we both love our football. We're exactly the same age-well, he's two days older than me. I just adore him"
