A sweet snack sold in supermarkets across the UK has been recalled. Woodstock Vanilla Creme Crowns, made by Woodstock Foods, have been issued a 'do not eat' warning after it was discovered that they contain hazelnuts not listed on the label.
The product is sold at Sainsbury's, Asda, Morrisons, Co-op, and Tesco. The Food Standards Agency (FSA) confirmed the recall for Vanilla Creme Crowns 12x50g pack with a best-before date of January 2026. The batch affected is numbered 224934.
In a notice posted on its website, the FSA said Woodstock Foods was recalling the product and the company had been advised to contact allergy support organisations.
Woodstock Foods said it was recalling a batch of its Unbaked Frozen Vanilla Creme Crowns, which are topped with hazelnuts because the nuts don't appear on the ingredients listed on the label.
Notices should now be on display in all retailers which sell the product, explaining to customers why the product is being recalled and advising them what to do if they have bought it.
The FSA said anyone with an allergy to hazelnuts who has bought the uncooked 12-pack of Vanilla Creme Crowns shouldn't eat them but return them to wherever they were bought for a full refund.
If you have bought the recalled product, then you can get a full refund for the complete product either with or without a receipt. The recall applies specifically to England and Wales, according to the Food Standards Agency.
