DI Ray season two is just around the corner, but when exactly will the crime drama kick off on ITV?
It's been a two-year hiatus since viewers last saw DI Rachita Ray (portrayed by Parminder Nagra) at the centre of the Birmingham-based drama.
In the previous season, the detective inspector found herself suspended by the police chief pending further investigation, so where does this leave DI Ray's career as she makes her comeback?
DI Ray Season 2 Release DateFortunately, the wait is nearly over with only a few more days until the popular series returns after a two-year break.
The second season of DI Ray is set to debut on Sunday, October 20, on ITV and ITVX.
DI Ray Season 2 CastReturning to her role as DI Ray is actress Parminder Nagra, best known for her roles as Jess Bhamra in Bend It Like Beckham and Dr Neela Rasgotra in ER.
She will be accompanied once again by Game Of Thrones' Gemma Whelan as DCI Kerry Henderson, Battlestar Galactica's Jamie Bamber as DI Martyn Hunter and Code 404's Steve Oram as DS Clive Bottomley.
Ian Puleston-Davies, formerly Owen Armstrong in Coronation Street, will also return as Superintendent Ross Beardsmore alongside The Chelsea Detective's Peter Bankole as DS Kwesi Edmud.
Meanwhile, new faces joining the cast for the second season include Patrick Baladi, Witney White, Michael Socha, Syreeta Kumar and Dinita Gohil.
DI Ray Season 2 Episode CountThe second season of DI Ray will comprise six episodes, with the first episode premiering on October 20, followed by the second and third episodes on October 21 and 22 respectively, all on ITV.
Viewers will then have to wait until the next week for the remaining three episodes, which will air on October 27, 28 and 29.
Alternatively, fans can binge-watch all six episodes on ITVX from the drama's initial release date on October 20.
