A huge in Birmingham city centre has sparked evacuations in nearby areas. About 50 firefighters have been called to Rea Street in the Deritend area of the city to tackle the fire, reports .
West Midlands Fire Service has confirmed the fire is in a three-storey building on Rea Street. Earlier reports from fire control suggested the blaze was on Rea Street South. Eight fire engines, a hydraulic platform and a 4x4 brigade response vehicle were after multiple calls were received at 8.55am.
