The North Wales resort of Llandudno stands as a beloved traditional seaside destination, celebrated for its expansive shoreline. This charming location boasts a magnificent Victorian seafront and cable car service ascending the Great Orme, a breathtaking headland along the north Wales coastline.
Whilst the popular North Shore Beach draws considerable crowds, Llandudno also features another sandy stretch that remains a 'hidden gem' for countless visitors. Tucked away on the far side of the headland lies West Shore Beach, an isolated cove fringed by undulating sand dunes. This peaceful spot offers a serene contrast to the animated North Shore Beach, perfect for those yearning for a quiet retreat from Llandudno's primary tourist hotspots.

The shoreline presents a captivating vista, with breathtaking panoramas stretching across the Conwy Estuary towards the summits of Snowdonia.
Swimming isn't off limits at West Shore Beach, though considering the shallow depths and absence of lifeguards, visitors might be wiser to limit themselves to gentle wading.
The location has earned acclaim as a "hidden gem" from countless TripAdvisor users.
One holidaymaker observed: "A real hidden gem! Only 15 minutes walk from the promenade, but feels like a world away. There is a quiet beach, and even sand dunes to explore."
A separate traveller noted: "This place is a hidden gem. It is so unlike the busy North Shore. It is peaceful with few shops and a vast sandy beach."
A third reviewer noted: "This is a very nice quiet place, you can walk along the beach, there is a children's play area, boating lake for model boats, a lovely coffee shop with hot snacks, pub on the corner.
"If you want to get away from the Llandudno seaside, Jump on the bus, £3 each way and it leaves from just by the monument we're all the busses that leave for the Great Orme."
West Shore Beach Café offers ice creams and light refreshments, whilst a pay and display car park is conveniently located near the waterfront, reports the Liverpool Echo.
Between May 1 and September 30, dogs are prohibited from the primary section of sand directly opposite West Parade. However, there are clearly designated sections of the coastline where dogs are permitted year-round, so ensure you follow the rules if you're bringing your furry friends.
Toilet facilities and a children's playground are easily available. Visitors planning to stay for the entire day mustn't miss the stunning sunset at West Shore Beach - it's among the most magnificent in the region.
Marvel as the sun sinks below the horizon, creating spectacular hues across the water. West Shore is not to be missed if you're spending a daytrip or longer on the North Wales coast.
