WhatsApp Outage: Meta's social messaging app WhatsApp complained of the app being down late Thursday night. Many users said that they were having trouble sending messages. Many users reported WhatsApp being down on social media platform X (formerly Twitter).

On the outage reporting site Down Detector, there was a sharp rise in the number of complaints about WhatsApp not working at around 11 am. Here around 1500 users said that they were facing problems in running the app.

Users angry on social media

Many social media users expressed their displeasure over WhatsApp being down. #Whatsappdown once again started trending on Twitter (formerly Twitter) as more users started complaining about issues on the platform.

One user wrote, "WhatsApp is down. Zuckerberg is trying to improve my sleep." Another commented, "Is WhatsApp down? My internet is fine, but I am unable to send messages...." Another user wrote sarcastically, "WhatsApp is down. However, I have no one to message. Still, it is bothering me."

So far, there has been no response from Meta or WhatsApp on WhatsApp being down. However, by around midnight, the complaints of WhatsApp not working had reduced.

There is news of Yahoo being down too

Yahoo Mail is one of the oldest email services in the world and is currently facing a major outage. The problem started on the evening of July 24, 2025, affecting thousands of users around the world. According to reports, users are facing problems ranging from login failure to server errors, and it has affected both personal and business users.

Yahoo Mail has a massive outage

According to the outage tracking platform Down Detector, a rapid increase in user complaints was seen around 9:30 pm (IST). The number of complaints crossed 10,000 in a few minutes. This problem has been seen globally, including users from India, the US and other countries.

Users complain of login and server errors

About 74% of the complaints are related to server connection. About 16% of users are unable to send emails, while 11% of users are facing problems in logging into their accounts. Many users are seeing “Temporary Error 15” while opening their inbox.
