Fans eagerly awaited Ajay Devgan’s upcoming film ‘Son of Sardar 2,’ and on July 11, the trailer was finally unveiled. However, unlike the first part which was widely appreciated for its comedy, this 3-minute trailer failed to evoke the same laughter, leaving many viewers disappointed.
Directed by Vijay Kumar Arora, ‘Son of Sardar 2’ is set to release on July 25. Mrunal Thakur stars opposite Ajay Devgan in the film. While expectations were high after the success of the original, the trailer suggests that the humor might feel somewhat forced. Still, a few dialogues do bring some comic relief. Notably, the trailer includes a pointed dig at Pakistan, adding a patriotic flavor to the film.
The plot appears to revolve around a marriage arrangement, with Ajay Devgan’s character pretending to be a soldier to achieve his goal. The film features a supporting cast including Neeru Bajwa, Sahil Mehta, Sanjay Mishra, Mukul Dev, and Ravi Kishan.
The trailer’s release also sparked memories of the first ‘Son of Sardar’ film, especially the absence of Sanjay Dutt, whose presence fans greatly missed. In one scene, Ajay Devgan narrates a soldier’s story linked to the iconic 2012 film ‘Border.’ After many years, the sequel seems ready to bring that connection back to the audience.
