Luke Littler announces major career change on eve of tournament - 'The right time'

Luke Littler has confirmed he and his management have split with the teenage sensation thanking them for their help over the past five years as he eyes new representation.

The teenage sensation has enjoyed a meteoric rise since bursting onto the scene at the World Darts Championship back in December 2023. He's since become one of the world's best players and helped the sport reach new heights and audiences.

That has seen his personal profile grow and he stands to become arguably the biggest superstar darts has ever seen. He had been with the same management, who also have Nathan Aspinall on the books, since he became a name in the sport but will now go in a new direction.

He said on social media: "I want to say a massive thank you to @Zxfsports, and especially @MartinFoulds5, for everything they’ve done for me so far in my career. We’ve had some amazing times together over the last 5 years and I’ll always be grateful for the advice and support that’s helped me get to this point.

"As my career moves forward and the schedule gets busier, we’ve agreed it’s the right time for me to take the next step with new representation. Martin has been brilliant for me and I wish him and everyone at ZXF the very best. Excited for what’s ahead."

Littler is currently ranked No 2 in the world and at the start of the year became the world champion for the first time, beating Michael van Gerwen in the final. The 18-year-old has gone on to claim the UK Open and the World Matchplay. Last year he was the Premier League champion.

Sports finance expert Dr Rob Wilson previously claimed that Littler could earn £100million over the next ten years. It is estimated that he could receive £20m in prize money over the next decade.

Wilson said: "Littler's earnings should be extrapolated like compound interest. As each year passes his prize money will increase year on year, as will his endorsement activity as his profile grows. He should comfortably earn £20m in prize money over the next 10 years.

"Add to that sponsorship, the inevitable ‘at home with the Littlers’ documentary that will follow and other revenue streams and his career earnings could easily hit £100m.

"In sport no one has seen this sort of meteoric profile and earnings explosion. The likes of Ronaldo, Messi and Beckham have all exceeded these numbers, but that came later in their careers. Littler is unique."
