Emmerdale star hints at sad split in wedding drama as secret could spark heartbreak

There could be a sad split on the way for one Emmerdale couple amid their plans to wed.

As the planning continues for their big day, a secret weighs heavy on one of the pair. Now, one star has teased the big reveal of the secret and what it might mean - and it could see devastation and heartbreak.

Gabby Thomas is desperate for the perfect wedding to her partner Vinny Dingle, unaware that he recently tried to kiss his pal Kammy Hadiq. Next week, viewers will see Vinny torn over the incident as he continues to try and cover it up.

Kammy tries to encourage his friend to be honest, as Vinny continues to question his sexuality. It leads to a conversation with Gabby's stepmother Laurel Thomas who urges Vinny to decide whether he wants to be with Gabby or not.

But will Laurel find out about the near-kiss, and could Gabby be left heartbroken? Speaking about the scenes ahead, Gabby actress Rosie Bentham teased there could be devastation as she's expecting Gabby to learn the truth.

While she could not say whether Vinny does admit the near-kiss, Rosie shared how she hopes Vinny is honest with her character so that the pair can talk things through. She's hoping the couple unite and stay together, but did say that if Vinny was to end things or at least opened up about how he was feeling, then Gabby may be supportive of her pal turned lover.

Rosie shared: "She's not had the best luck with men," referring to her doomed wedding with Nicky Miligan, after it emerged he was gay and was only using her as part of his and his dad Caleb Miligan's plan against Kim Tate. Rosie went on: "Poor Gabby, that would really rock her and I think because she has been through it before, she'd really feel it's another circumstance that she should give up.

"But I think she has an understanding relationship with Vinny. The one with Nicky was a vindictive plan, he was never interested in Gabby. It was a superficial, surface-level romance and she got swept away.

"This [betrayal] would hit even deeper cos it is someone she genuinely has feelings for and has developed a very strong connection with. But I don't know where the story is going. I think Gabby could possibly be quite supportive of Vinny.

"They started out as best mates, so they will always have an underlying love for each other whether it be romantic or not, and I think if Vinny is questioning things and is really struggling, then some communication needs to happen.

"This stuff with Kammy I don't know how it would be initially received by Gabby being. [Everything] would come crashing down and I think she would struggle with that." On whether the wedding would go ahead if Gabby learned the truth, Rosie hinted it would be off the cards.

She said: "I'm really torn because I think it would depend on Vinny and how he goes about it cos Gabby's not horrible. If he was to sit down and have an honest conversation with her then I don't know, but I don't think she could go through with having a ring on her finger for the rest of her life knowing that doubt, cos it touches a nerve too deep as it's happened before.

"She's basically following in her mum's footsteps let's be honest!" Rosie is hoping the pair stay together though, while she hinted history could be about to repeat itself. She said: "It would be nice to see Gabby being there for him as a friend to help him with his confusion.

"But I reckon for her own sake and future she'd have to take a step back cos at the end of the day she wants a secure family and that picture perfect home. You can't start a wedding off with disaster straight away, so we'll see."

Rosie went on: "I don't want to see Gabby heartbroken again but it seems like it might happen. I love working with Bradley [who plays Vinny], it would be such a shame if they don't get their happy ending."
