The accused Gurmel Singh and Dharamraj Kashyap, who murdered former Maharashtra minister and NCP leader Baba Siddiqui, learned to shoot by watching Youtube videos before committing the crime.
Mumbai Police has arrested four accused in the Baba Siddiqui murder case, while three are still absconding. Several teams have been formed to catch them.
The Crime Branch of Mumbai Police is investigating the case and has recovered a black bag containing a 7.62 mm gun. ANI quoted Mumbai Police as saying, "The accused were given Baba Siddiqui's photo for identification. The shooters had conducted a recce of his house and his residence 25 days before the incident. Gurmel Singh and Dharamraj Kashyap learned shooting from Youtube and practiced shooting with a gun without a magazine in Mumbai."
Crime Branch arrests fourth suspect
The Crime Branch has arrested the fourth suspect, identified as 23-year-old Harishkumar Balakram, who is accused of funding and delivering the high-profile murder. He was arrested from Bahraich in Uttar Pradesh.
Police said Balakram worked as a scrap dealer in Pune and was part of the conspiracy. Two of the three accused - Dharmaraj and Shivprasad Gautam - worked at Balakram's scrap shop.
66-year-old Baba Siddiqui was shot dead by three men on Saturday night right outside the office of his MLA son Zeeshan Siddiqui in Mumbai's Nirmal Nagar area. He was rushed to Lilavati Hospital where he was declared dead. He was cremated on Sunday.
Murder planned in Pune
Police said, "According to the information received from Mumbai Crime Branch, the entire planning of Baba Siddiqui's murder was done in Pune. Mumbai Crime Branch has so far recorded the statements of more than 15 people, including many eyewitnesses who were present at the time of the incident."
The attackers claimed to be associated with the Bishnoi gang, whose leader Lawrence is imprisoned in Sabarmati Jail in Gujarat. Baba Siddiqui's murder has once again brought the Bishnoi gang in the limelight.
