South African legend AB de Villiers pulled off a superhuman effort to make possible a relay catch in the World Championship of Legends 2025 match against India at County Ground in Northampton. The former South African captain slid expertly enough to not touch the boundary rope and threw it to Sarel Erwee, who took the catch reasonably comfortably.

AB de Villiers top-scored for South Africa champions with 63
Earlier in the night, the 41-year-old top-scored for the Proteas with a 30-ball 63, laced with three fours and four sixes. Hashim Amla and Jacques Rudolph opened the innings to give their side a decent start, stitching a 35-run stand. Amla and Rudolph made brisk 24 and 22, respectively.
But it was De Villiers' knock that provided the Proteas the real impetus. JP Duminy (16), Wayne Parnell (11) and JJ Smuts (30) also played useful cameos to carry South Africa champions to 208/6 in 20 overs. For India, Yusuf Pathan and Piyush Chawla snared two wickets each.
At the time of writing this, India were staring at a huge defeat as they were 111/8 in 18 overs.
