In a significant step towards digital governance, the Panvel Municipal Corporation (PMC) has launched ‘Panvel Connect’, a mobile application aimed at streamlining communication between citizens and the civic administration.
The app offers a wide range of services along with 24/7 chatbot support.
Described as a “digital bridge,” Panvel Connect seeks to eliminate the gap between citizens and municipal services by enabling access to various facilities directly from their smartphones.
The civic body has also announced a dedicated helpline number, 8960916091, to offer additional assistance.
“With this app, citizens can access services such as certificate applications, permissions, grievance redressal, and updates on government schemes—all from the comfort of their homes,” said an official.
Civic Officials emphasized that Panvel Connect will serve as a vital platform to inform residents about ongoing civic initiatives, promote public participation, and ensure timely assistance during emergencies.
"One of the app’s key features is its SOS facility, which is directly linked to the Nirbhaya Cell to enhance women's safety. It also aims to support women empowerment by providing detailed information about various state government schemes available in the Panvel region," informed an official.
In the coming weeks, the app is expected to become a hub for employment opportunities, with plans to list job openings from private companies in the city—helping connect job-seeking citizens with prospective employers.
Grievance redressal has been made more accessible, with citizens now able to register complaints, track the action taken, and view updates through a live dashboard monitored by the Municipal Commissioner’s office. “This will help ensure transparency and accountability in resolving citizen issues,” the official added.
The app will also play a key role in implementing the Maharashtra Right to Public Services Act, 2015, by allowing online applications for various services. Features such as webinars, blogs, and live updates on civic matters will be integrated to keep citizens informed.
Another highlight of Panvel Connect is its GPS-enabled service locator, which allows residents, tourists, and migrant populations to easily find nearby government offices, hospitals, schools, public toilets, blood banks, and parks within PMC limits.
