Mumbai: In the case of alleged irregularities in granting liquor licences in Chandrapur, the state government has given extension for the submission of a report by the Special Investigation Team (SIT) headed by a DIG rank officer from the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB).
The SIT is headed by Deputy Inspector General of Police (ACB, Mumbai) Sandeep Diwan, to conduct a thorough investigation into the complaints received regarding malpractices, irregularities, and bribery in granting liquor licenses.
A government official said the scope of the investigation is large and requires inquiry and recording of detailed statements, to verify the documents of excise licenses received from the Superintendent (state excise), for which an extension of three months had been sought.
