New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday lauded the arrival of the first freight train to the Kashmir Valley, marking a significant milestone in connecting the region to the national freight network.
Responding to a post by the Union Minister for Railways, Communications and Electronics & IT, Shri Ashwini Vaishnaw on micro-blogging website X, PM Modi said that the development will enhance both progress and prosperity in Jammu and Kashmir.

PM Modi to Launch Yellow Line Metro & Vande Bharat Express In Bengaluru Tommorow
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to visit Bengaluru on Sunday to inaugurate the Yellow Line of the Bangalore Metro and launch the Vande Bharat Express train between Bengaluru and Belagavi. During the visit, he will flag off the KSR Bengaluru–Belagavi Vande Bharat Express and virtually inaugurate two additional trains.
PM Modi will also inaugurate the Yellow Line of Namma Metro, which stretches 19.15 km from RV Road to Bommasandra, featuring 16 stations. Built at a cost of ₹5,056.99 crore, the line is expected to significantly reduce traffic congestion along some of the city’s busiest corridors. PM Modi will also address a public gathering in the city.
