The wait is over! Ajith-Trisha Krishnan's much-awaited movie 'Good, Bad, Ugly' hit the theatres on Thursday. Helmed by Adhik Ravichandran and backed by Mythri Movie Makers—making their foray into Tamil cinema—the film features Ajith in the lead role as AK, a notorious crime lord and ex-convict. The story unfolds as AK is drawn back into a world of violence when his son is abducted, forcing him to confront his dark past once again.
The audience response to the movie has been on average positive, with many praising the film for being an out-and-out massy entertainer for fans of the Tamil superstar.
One reviewer wrote that although the movie delivers when it comes to action, the film falls flat emotionally.
"#GoodBadUgly is an alright out-and-out mass entertainer that works in parts and is a pure fan service to Ajith. After a solid 1st half, the second half starts well with a flashback episode but has nothing much to offer after that and feels dragged till the end. A few mass blocks have come out very well and it is nice seeing Ajith back in a vintage way. However, the film does not have much of a story or emotional connection and banks on many typical buildup elevations and action blocks, which get tiring after a point. BGM is apt but definitely had a scope to be better and elevate more scenes. Production values are good..." Read the post.
Another review hailed the movie for having a brilliant introduction scene for the superstar and wrote that the movie marks the comeback of "vintage Ajith."
"Career Best INTRO & Title Card for AK. kicks off with stylish shots and a standout song—a perfect blend leading up to a gripping interval. Interval is A BANGER With
@gvprakash. The film was elevated to another league thanks to his phenomenal background music," read the comment.
Another review said the movie was a total 'paisa vasool' fare for die-hard Ajith fans. "#GoodBadUgly is a solid theatre celebration of AK! Packed with whistle-worthy moments, goosebumps scenes, and nonstop entertainment. Though it’s light on story, the mass energy more than makes up for it. Pure fun on the big screen!" Read the comment.
