Meta says that these changes will not affect the privacy of users. Ads will only appear in public areas like Status and Channels, not in personal chats. This means that your messages will remain ad-free.

Apart from this, Meta is testing another feature, in which users will be able to download their Ad Activity Report. It will contain information about which ad was shown when and by whom. This feature will make the ad system more transparent.
