Insurance claim rejection: With changing times, people have become more conscious about their future. Today, almost everyone understands the importance of life and health insurance. While life insurance secures your family's future, health insurance can save money on illness.
In addition to insurance, customers should also have information about claims. Sometimes, insurance companies reject your claim or don't pay the full amount. Such complaints are common. Therefore, every policyholder should know where to file a complaint so that they can find a solution. Let's explore what to do if you have an insurance-related complaint.
File a Complaint on the Insurance Bharosa Portal
If an insurance company doesn't approve your claim or refuses to refund, or even approves only half the claim amount, you can file a complaint on the Insurance Bharosa Portal. This portal was created specifically to resolve insurance-related complaints.
The Insurance Bharosa Portal was created as a new system by the Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India (IRDAI). Your complaint is routed directly from this portal to the Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India and the relevant insurance company.
How to File a Complaint?
If you have a complaint against an insurance company, first file a complaint with the company's grievance team. If you don't receive a resolution, you can then file your complaint on the Insurance Bharosa Portal. To do this, visit the portal's website. Click on the Register Complaint option. Create a profile by entering your name, mobile number, and email ID and log in.
Follow the company name, insurance policy number, and claim information. Upload relevant documents, if required. Once your complaint is filed, you'll receive a token number that allows you to track the status of your complaint. If your Bima Bharosa policy doesn't provide you with a solution, you can report it to the Insurance Ombudsman.
