The saying goes, if you someone, set them free and if they return, they're yours. This adage seemed to ring true for Jenna and her now- Mitchell Brotherson, albeit not in the usual way.
The pair, who first crossed paths in June 2019 and exchanged vows in September 2020, revealed that Jenna initially broke up with Mitchell as she was "too overwhelmed with life."
However, a day after their split, Mitchell reportedly suffered a severe while attempting a flip at Utah's Beaver Mountain, landing incorrectly and hitting his head. The then-22 year old told he blacked out and came to as paramedics were taking him down the mountain, completely oblivious to what had transpired.

"He was going off a jump and it was super icy. His feet went in front of him and so he went off the jump and landed on his head," Jenna later shared with the publication. "It was a pretty severe concussion. He ended up failing most of his courses that semester and had to take a leave of absence after that to help his brain heal."
According to the source, the man's memory was severely affected by the concussion to the point where he had completely forgotten his split with Jenna. While in hospital, Mitchell reportedly phoned Jenna for a lift home, under the impression they were still an item, reports .
"I'm like, 'Why is he messaging me this? I just broke up with him,'" Jenna shared in a TikTok video. Speaking to People, she said: "Mitch kept messaging me and trying to hang out after his concussion and I was confused as to why he would keep messaging me because we had broken up.
"I thought that maybe he took the statement of staying friends really seriously. It even was to the point when I told him that my roommates and I had a hard day and he came and brought us ice cream."
The woman confessed that she regretted ending the relationship, praising her ex for being so "kind and thoughtful" about her feelings and "just tried to help" her navigate life's challenges "instead of being upset or mean."
After some reflection on their breakup, she decided to give their relationship another shot. "I was nervous to swallow my pride and ask if he would date again," admitted Jenna, who revealed to the magazine that she received a text from Mitchell suggesting they hang out the day she returned from Spring break. After hanging out with friends we chatted in the evening and I asked to get back together with him. That was when I realised he had no clue we even broke up," she added.
"I told him about how we were in my car and what I said to him and what he said back," she added. "He told me he didn't remember any of that except for chatting in the car. But he didn't remember what we chatted about. He thought it was super funny and I was relieved. It made it easy to get back together because to him, we never weren't together! " Five months on, Jenna divulged to People that Mitchell popped the question at Big Cottonwood Canyon, the very place where he confessed his love for her.
Just three weeks after the proposal, the two tied the knot. As Jenna reminisces, "During my husband's speech, he brought up not remembering the break up but how he is so grateful that it all worked out in the end," The couple, both 27, cherish telling their unique love tale.
Jenna says, "We are both 27 now and when people ask us about our love story it's our favourite part to tell. We really felt invisible strings pulling us together all along."
