Strictly Come Dancing fans were left speechless during the latest results show as JB Gill found himself in the dreaded dance-off. Despite earning a respectable score of 30 from the judges, it wasn't enough to keep him from landing in the bottom two.

When his name was announced, the shock was evident as professional was seen on-screen with his jaw wide open. The 37-year-old had to take to the dancefloor once again to perform his Jive routine with his Strictly partner Amy Dowden.

In the end, the judges opted to save the pop star, sending Paul Merson home. On Tuesday's instalment of It Takes Two, the contestant spoke to host Fleur East about finding himself fighting to remain in the show.

The presenter asked: "How did it feel to find yourself in that position?"

He replied: "That was it, I mean we got 30! So it wasn't like we got a shammy score. Of course, it's always disappointing I think when you put so much work into training and obviously you work hard in the week like everybody does to not have the result that you want which is to go through to the next week, to find yourself in the dance-off is always a little bit disheartening.

"It's not what you're looking for but the level of competition this year is very very high. You can see that the standard is right up there so it's one of those things. It's part of the show and of course, it meant that I got to do the dance again."

When asked how she managed to get JB ready for the dance-off, Amy revealed she told him to do exactly what he had done the first time around.

She added: "I truly think that JB, week in and week out, has delivered such brilliant performances and I'm so proud. Every Saturday we always come off (the floor) absolutely buzzing."

During their chat, the pair revealed they'll be doing a Foxtrot to Dancing in the Moonlight by Toploader for Halloween week dressed as scarecrows who come to life.

JB added: "I'm over the moon to be here this week, looking forward to getting stuck into a new dance a new routine, it's a new week. Last week is done! It is what is it and we live to fight again."

The JLS star is currently eighth on the leaderboard, with many of the couples earning scores within the 30s.

Storming ahead is and Montell Douglas who earned a near-perfect score of 40 for their routines, putting them at the top of the leaderboard.
