Perrie Edwards shares son Axel watching 'mummy's friend' Florrie Bark at Pride of Britain Awards

Perrie Edwards has shared the touching moment she watched the Pride of Britain Awards with her young son, Axel.

As part of the show, - who is battling leukaemia and waiting for her life to be changed by a lung transplant. Taking to Instagram while the series was airing, Perrie revealed she was watching the show with her toddler son.

Heartwarming moments were shared via her Stories which showed Axel taking an interest in Florrie's story. Perrie could be heard telling her little boy: "That’s Florrie. That’s mummy’s friend." Axel then sympathetically asked: "Is mummy’s friend poorly?" And Perrie said softly: "Yes, darling."

In further clips, Axel could be heard exitedly exclaiming: "Mama!" as Perrie herself appeared on screen, and the small boy smiled at the screen. Perrie could be heard saying: "She’s so cute. She won an award. She won an award for being so brave."

And she later encouraged Axel to say: "We love you, Florrie!" Her touching mother-and-son moment was shared after viewers watched Perrie surprise Florrie. After getting excited over a unicorn cake, Florrie and her family watched what she thought was a music video of Perrie's on the screen next to them.

Halfway through the 'video', Perrie turned to the camera and said: "Oh hi, I'm Perrie and I believe you're Florrie. Can I come out and meet you?" When the superstar came out, a shocked Florrie squealed in delight as Perrie hugged her. "I wanted to come meet you and surprise you." Florrie later said to the camera: "I had no idea that this was going to happen today. Perrie's one of my favourite singers."

Perrie gave her the golden envelope, which told her she won a Pride of Britain Award. "You are so brave, I feel like you light up this whole room!" Viewers watching at home were in tears watching the wholesome exchange and took to social media to share their thoughts.

Florrie's story revealed that she is spreading positivity by raising thousands of pounds for charity and inspiring others through her TikTok account, BeMoreFab, where she helps inform other children about cancer. The eight-year-old burst into tears during the night as those at the event helped raise over £100,00 in charity donations.
