is bringing back the beloved sandwich to UK menus today for a limited time.
The menu item has been a cult favourite of Maccies fans since it was first introduced in 1981. The McRib contains a boneless pork patty, which is shaped like ribs and covered in BBQ sauce, with onions, pickles, and a toasted bun. The McRib was axed from menus in 1985 and has returned several times since then. In the UK, the McRib was last on sale in 2015 - and fans have regularly called for it to come back ever since.
The, which will cost £4.49 on its own or £6.19 as part of a medium extra value meal, will be available for a limited time from today. The fast food chain teased the return throughout September with a cryptic message sent to their app. Screengrabs on social media show how some people were sent a message which popped up on their phone screen, saying: "McRib_Test.notification_16.10.24 [TEST]". Others said they saw an "error" image notification within the app, which mentioned the name of the burger, alongside the launch date of October 16.
Alongside the McRib, more new menu items have been added from today, including their Mozzarella and Emmental Bites, which are also available as a 15-piece sharing box. The cheesy snacks have a caramelised onion flavoured breadcrumb coating and are served with BBQ dip. You can either buy these in a box with five Cheese Bites for £2.49 or the sharebox will set you back £6.79.
For McDonald's coffee fans, there is also the new toasted marshmallow latte. The drink contains a toasted marshmallow flavoured syrup, topped with whipped cream and a toasted marshmallow flavoured dusting. You can also get this in a hot chocolate. This is priced at £2.59, or the Toasted Marshmallow Hot Chocolate equivalent costs £2.19.
Thanks to the new mini hash brown bites, the breakfast menu will also be getting a little refresh this month. A single portion of Mini Hash Browns contains five pieces and will set you back £1.49 while a sharebox costs £2.99 and contains 15 pieces. These will be available "while stocks last" during breakfast hours, between 6am to 11am at participating restaurants.
The toffee apple pie is officially back too. Costing you £1.99, this is a crispy pastry filled with a spiced apple compote, toffee sauce and toffee pieces.
Also rejoining the menu is the McCrispy Deluxe. It features 100% chicken breast fillet in a crispy, crunchy coating topped with hot and spicy mayo, caramelised onion compote, seasonal lettuce, bacon, red onions, and a cheddar cheese slice packed into a sourdough-style bun. The burger along will set you back £5.99 while the medium meal will cost you £7.79.
Finally, Maccies fans can also try its new Halloween M&M’s McFlurry. This is ice cream swirled with M&S's and Halloween sugar shapes, topped off with Galaxy chocolate sauce, or the Galaxy Caramel McFlurry, which is packed with Galaxy Chocolate Pieces and Galaxy Caramel sauce. Each one is priced at £2.19 or £1.59 for a mini version.
