'I help my daughter cover up her affair - I babysit while she goes on secret dates'

Despite her daughter being , one mum has admitted she's "thrilled" she's having an and even babysits as she goes off to meet her secret lover.

The mum said babysitting her two grandchildren is her 'favourite' thing to do while her daughter goes out on dates, and happily helps her "cover her tracks" from her .

The shocking revelation from the mum meant she is supporting her daughter, even though she knows it's 'immoral'. She said everyone thinks her daughter Sophie has the "perfect life", married for a decade with two children, but she knows her daughter has been having an affair for the past two years. However, she is more than happy to help her with her deception and said she is "delighted" by it.

The mum explained how she'd never liked Sophie's husband Dave, and claimed she could "do better". She called him "brash" "loud" and "full of himself" hoping the relationship would fizzle out but was shocked watching Sophie dote on her new beau. The mum claimed Dave would flirt with other women, and said this wasn't the "happy ending" she'd hoped for her daughter.

When Sophie started to struggle to raise their children, the mum knew Dave wasn't stepping up. She told : "Dave wasn’t hands on, going to the pub after work as an estate agent every evening and waltzing off on weekends. Sophie struggled to look after two small children and the home, having no life of her own. Outwardly, they looked like the perfect, happy family — but I knew Sophie was beginning to resent him."

She revealed Sophie was "exhausted" and this made her anger towards Dave "bubble". The mum further added: "I helped her as much as I could with the children and, two years ago, Sophie went back to work part-time in PR. She started making more of an effort with her appearance and a glimmer of the old Sophie returned. She'd mentioned a colleague called Ben a few times — he featured in nearly all of her stories about work."

One day, Sophie asked her mum to look after her children one day while Dave was away, as she was going for a drink after work. "She would never have gone if Dave was at home - even though he went out with friends all the time so of course I said yes. When she came home, she mentioned Ben a lot, laughing about what he’d said to her. Seeing her happy gave me a burst of excitement . . . but also suspicion."

The mum then told her daughter that if she ever wanted to go for a drink with Ben again, she would happily watch the children and that her daughter "understood" what she meant. This led to a confession from her daughter after a few meetings that she and Dave were having an affair.

"I smiled and she quickly changed the subject, clearly glad to have got the secret off her chest, I was delighted that she was finally getting something for herself, a person who made her happy. I wrapped my arms around her when she left and promised that her secret was safe with me," the mum explained.

She reassured Sophie that Dave didn't need to know and said every time Dave was away, she would babysit her grandchildren and would arrive once they had gone to bed so the children don't know their mum was out. She said this way there is "no risk" of Dave finding out and is thrilled she's got her "daughter back".

Despite knowing it's "immoral" she said her daughter and grandchildren happiness are the most important things. She understands Sophie won't break up her family while her children are young and claimed Dave is "far too arrogant" to think Sophie would ever cheat on him.
