Emmerdale confirms identity of Vinny Dingle's real father after DNA theory

cleared up some confusion over Vinny Dingle's parentage on Thursday night, after a twist involving Tina Dingle.

It was revealed this week that Tina was the biological mother of Vinny, who had been raised by Tina's cousin Mandy Dingle. Vinny knows that Mandy is not his biological mum, with viewers knowing this early on, but he and the Dingles have no idea of his true parentage in regards to Tina.

The news about Tina left some viewers convinced Vinny's dad wasn't really Paul Ashdale, not convinced the pair were together. Paul died on the show back in 2021, after debuting as the father of Vinny.

Similarly to Tina, Paul had abandoned Vinny too leaving Mandy raising him. After some fans questioned whether someone else could be Vinny's dad, including former character Frank Tate, the latest episode gave all the details.

Thursday's episode saw Mandy and Tina rowing over the truth about Vinny. Tina is blackmailing Mandy, wanting her late father Zak Dingle's will in exchange for her silence.

Tina wants to get her hands on the family house to get the cash, but Zak's will means she is entitled to nothing. Tina told Mandy unless she got the will, she was going to tell Vinny and everyone about being his real mum.

As the pair spoke more came out about what went on after Vinny was born. Tina kept making up stories to wind Mandy up, claiming she would tell Vinny he was stolen from her.

It's then that Tina made comments that confirmed Paul was in fact Vinny's biological father. Tina walked out on Vinny when he was three weeks old, leaving Paul to raise him alone.

Mandy ended up helping Paul, while months later she got with Paul and they decided to raise Vinny together. Tina claimed Vinny was snatched away from her, but Mandy said Tina didn't want to know and even changed her number so she couldn't be found.

Tina accused Mandy of "stealing her life", referring to Mandy raising Vinny and getting with Paul. So it seems Tina and Paul were together and she fell pregnant with Vinny.

Shortly after the birth, three weeks, she abandoned the family and never came back, changing her number. It's not quite clear if she ever returned or if she made contact, but it seems not. There may be more to come out about why Tina really left and what went on after.
