Strictly Come Dancing fans couldn't believe their eyes after spotting icon Lisa Riley in the studio audience on Saturday night. The Mandy Dingle actress was spotted clapping along, wearing a cream jumper dress with her partner.

"Yes, it is; I love her," another replied, while a third added: "Do you mean Lisa Riley (blue tick)."

Lisa appeared on in the tenth series and was partnered with the late .

Chris McCausland and Dianne Buswell opened the programme with an energetic Samba. However, despite getting high praise from the judges for their performance, fans were left concerned for the comedian.

Many seem to think the celebrities who open the show are often eliminated the following day.

Chris also addressed the curse when chatting with Claudia Winkleman, he stated: "We have lost four people so far this series.

"Two of them on Sambas, and we have had four dance-offs and three of them are people who have went on first, so the maths is against us this week."

Last weekend, Paul Merson was eliminated from the show after a dance-off against JB Gill.

When asked about his time on the show, Paul shared with Tess Daly: "It's been really good. For anybody I talk to, I would say you've got to go on this show. It's amazing - everybody. There's a Tottenham fan over there called Lincoln, and he's nice!

"It's been amazing, honestly, amazing. I loved every minute of it, I've had a great teacher. She's been amazing, absolutely amazing, and I couldn't wish for a better coach.

"I've loved every minute of it. I can dance now. I won because I can dance. I couldn't dance before, but I can half dance now. It's a bonus, absolute bonus."

However, another celebrity will be eliminated on Sunday night, and according to the bookmakers, Punam Krishnan is the favourite to leave.

Strictly Come Dancing returns on Sunday at 7.20pm on BBC One.
